Cusco and machu picchu

Our Third Stop

After the amazing experience in the Amazon, we continued to be amazed at all that Peru has to offer. Cusco, the capital of the Incan empire, is a truly amazing city and Machu Picchu is a place that must be seen to be really appreciated.

Awesome experiences

Our first full day we were treated to a tour of the city with a phenomenal guide, David. He taught us about the history and the Incas and was remarkably knowledgable. The next day David took us to Machu Picchu for an unforgettable tour and explanation.

This place is up there!

From the moment we stepped off the plane at the Cusco airport, it was clear that altitude is an issue here. The airport is at 10,800' above sea level and we all felt the effects of the altitude. Interestingly, our next few stops took us even higher!
